"We had a tremendously successful visit and this was in large part down to your guides. Thanks and it was a pleasure working with you."
Alan Marchant, Stantonbury Campus, UK

Book one of our young, motivated guides for your student group. Our guides are all post-graduates with a passion for their subject and a natural talent for communicating with young people (and older ones too!).

Berlin Walks pioneered tours in English on Berlin’s Third Reich, Jewish Life and Holocaust history and has genuine expertise in these subject areas. But read on for the complete list of our fascinating tour themes.

"… thank you for Ida! She was absolutely the best. She was remarkable! Thank you so much for another wonderful tour."
Carol Cozad, Sehome High School, Bellingham, WA

Which tour/s?

We offer a good range of well-researched tours and are always pleased to adapt or combine themes to suit your requirements. Many groups choose our Discover Berlin walking tour to start off their visit and then follow it up with themed tours later on.

Choose from among the following tours:

  • Discover Berlin: an all-in-one-tour of the main sights: duration 3-4 hours
  • Infamous Third Reich Sites: Berlin’s darkest history: duration 2-3 hours
  • Sachsenhausen Concentration Camp Memorial Tour*: duration 6 hours including transport to and from Berlin
  • Jewish Life in Berlin: the old Jewish quarter: duration 2-3 hours
  • Berlin - Nest of Spies*: duration 3-4 hours
  • Discover Potsdam*: duration 6 hours including transport to and from Berlin
  • Berlin’s new architecture: duration 3-4 hours
  • German-language tours. The information and content of our themed tours can be graded to your requirements.

* these tours are not recommended on Mondays; in all other cases, tours are available 7 days a week, at a time to suit you!

Additional Tour Materials

On the Discover Berlin, Third Reich and Sachsenhausen tours, we can provide a tour worksheet for any pre-booked tour (at a cost of € 50 per group). We can let you review a copy of the relevant worksheet well in advance of the tour, and are pleased to modify it to fit in with your syllabus. The worksheets work best for 13-16 year olds; they encourage the students to listen out for nuggets of information given by the guide AND to pick up visual clues while the tour is in progress.

Pre-tour preparation

As you know, the more you prepare your students for a trip abroad – the more successful it will be! In the Visitor Info part of our website, we provide a mass of information to help you plan your visit. Once you are in Berlin, our guides will also supply your students with a free Berlin Walks' map, which also includes lots of useful information in English.

Practical assistance for educators who plan independent tours

We understand the amount of planning that has to go into pre-tour preparation; we know what the safety issues are and how you have to take them into consideration. If you visit Berlin on a planning trip and are thinking of booking a tour with us, join a Berlin Walks' regular tour as our guest (you’ll appreciate this only applies to teachers or professors who have notified our office in advance!).

"Thank you and your tour guides for yet another excellent series of tours around Berlin. Our children and staff thoroughly enjoyed the tours, and are still quoting facts given to them by your guides. Please especially thank Sarah for her 3 days hard work with us. Also please thank Henry for his input - the group he showed around were so impressed with him that he has become a bit of a cult figure - they insisted on being called 'Henry's group' for the rest of the week! We are looking forwards to doing it all again next year!"
Catherine Old, Cornwallis School, UK
