World War II and the Third Reich

Uncover the former Nazi government quarter of Berlin, learn how World War II was lead and felt in Berlin, and visit national memorials to experience how Germany reflects on its history. Join now for an in-depth, critical look at the ‘Third Reich’.

What you’ll see

World War II wrought untold destruction that caused millions of deaths and set the tone for the rest of the 20th century. On our tour we will take a glimpse into how Berlin weathered the War, from its local Jewish population, to the Berliner surviving the bombing and Battle of Berlin, to the perpetrators themselves and their institutions of war and death.

Explore Berlin’s Jewish district at the start of the tour and see what was Germany’s largest temple: the New Synagogue, while learning about the German and Berliner Jewish experience.

Visit the site of the former SS & Gestapo Headquarters at the Topography of Terror Museum and hear how the Nazi party was organized with men like Heinrich Himmler and Reinhard Heydrich leading it.

See the destruction caused by bombing in WWII in photos and with the remains of the Anhalter Bahnhof, once one of Europe’s largest train stations before the War.

Hear stories of resistance against the Nazi regime from their outset in the 1920s to their defeat in 1945 and understand the German present with memorials to the victims of National Socialism. Ultimately our tour ends where Nazi Germany fell: in front of the Reichstag, Germany’s parliament building, where Soviet forces placed their flag above a ruined Berlin.
